Private Residence, Philadelphia Rowhouse

Philadelphia, PA

When the owner purchased it in 2003, this rowhouse had not been upgraded since 1956. The kitchen floor was so deteriorated that the sheet vinyl served as the only support, and the refrigerator was in the dining room. The bathroom was hardly wide enough to walk past the immense clawfoot tub. Every floor had multiple layers of linoleum (not vinyl) and every wall and ceiling surface had many layers of wallpaper.

Kate Cowing Architect, LLC designed a total renovation on a strict budget meeting the owner’s budget requirements.
